Not a real manga artist. No Professional career in Japan. Sounds like someone was butthurt and fled to an easier country. Her opinions are of no consequence...

No, I agree with Takashima. And the success of her work has nothing to do with the truth of her statement. I think a certain someone was deeply wounded because he was called out on his obsession and Takashima won't read his bad fan-fiction. ^_~

It doesn't matter who said it the statement still holds true. Otaku need to get their butts out the door and live in the real world. There is a great difference between hobby and obsession.

I apparently am not reading the article same as you as I see no instance of anime in it at all. All I recognize is that the woman in question is stating that people of today are substituting knowledge from the internet as a replacement for personal experience.
Therefore I honestly don't understand the subtitle you chose: "Americans ruin anime for manga artist"
Since it makes no since to me.

Sounds like some non-important artist doesn't know we live in a global information age. We are no longer held bound to the industrial age "physical plane" and we should make every effort that the virtual world is just as open and equally viable hang out spot.
People that dislike virtual space probably have issues accessing or understanding it. In other words, haters gonna hate.

... What bothers me is that the article barely covers what the topic of this thread is, she states it and then it just talks about how she writes. It's nothing about how people spend too much time online or anything, just the first two paragraphs. I see no problem here...
