Hollywood studio Warner Brothers has obtained the rights to produce a live-action movie adaptation of supernatural suspense manga Death Note, it has been revealed. The adaptation is due to be based on the manga, as opposed to any of the other titles in the franchise, and is apparently still in the very early stages of production. Warner Brothers has brought in big-name heavyweight screenwriters Charley and Vlas Parlapanides to create the screenplay, so the script may be something special indeed; they may be known to Hollywood followers from such blockbusters as “War of the Gods” and “Live Bet”. Source: getnews.jp/archives/12000Can't wait to see white actors in Jap roles as to be expected of Hollywood's COMPETENT adaptions of just about anything.

Ugh....what a mess. This and the American adaptation of Akira are going to be awful. This is why we have hikikomori in the world. They are smarter than they appear.

Would be awesome if they got the same guy to produce it that did Dragon Ball Evolution....
I look forward to the backlash when they try to merchandise the "Death Notes." ;D

Do you never think the Japanese try to remake American comics into live action films? I wanna believe there is a small subculture of people who get really pissed when they see this.

I far as I recall the Japs eat this stuff up. DB Evo sold like hot cakes upon release over there.

Do you never think the Japanese try to remake American comics into live action films? Well, there was that live-action Spider-man TV series made in Japan, where he had (I kid you not) a giant robot.
