Made by the same person as Azumanga daioh. The main character, a 4 year old girl, with the cuteness of Chiyo-chan, and randomness of Osaka discovers randomness of life. Like how Boxes make awesome robots, pancakes are yummy, and copying bad things from Television is funny xD Its a really innocent, but cute series.
This is an episodic series with no real plot, but the chapters are actually full chapters unlike Azumanga's 4-koma panels. The title Yotsubato is literally Yotsuba And..., and each chapter is about something new she encounters. It has a long list of characters, like her dad's friends, A Really big guy named Jumbo who has the hots for their next door neighbor, and another friend who would probably laugh maniacally stealing candy from a baby.
Yotsuba herself is really random, but having 3 younger siblings myself (Currently ages 6, 3, and 1), the author pretty much hits what little kids really are xD
Inquisitive and easily ticked off when they don't get their candy. Not to mention are scared to death of scare crows, and really really easy to trick and play mind games with. This manga brings you back to a time when you could dress up, run around splashing in puddles, the anticipation before a big road trip, and eat playdough O.o
Probably my favorite comedy series~ Highly suggest every one reads. Can be appreciated by both girls and boys I think.
This is actually the first thing I ever saw related to this series (after I watched Pani Poni Dash lol)
There currently is not an anime of this series, and the mangaka has said on multiple occasions that he will not allow it)
Here is also an azumanga daioh version of Yotsuba
