Hello, this is a suggestion I have which involves both the club organizers and it's members. This is warren wilkinson so that you know who is suggesting this. I started to come to this group because I like anime (of coarse), but I also came because I wanted to share my interest of anime with other people. The thing is, after coming twice, I'm not happy with how we (the members) interact with each other.
I liked it when we had our first meeting and we all introduced ourselves to the group and let each other know a little about ourselves. After that, we basically watched anime the rest of the time and then, from what I sough, everyone left immediately after the screenings where over. That was okay to me because it was the first meeting and things were kind of messed up from the school not responding where you could hold the meeting.
After going to the second meeting and asking the organizers on how the meetings are generally run, I was displeased with the group. I was displeased because I wasn't seeing a real way to get to know the other members. When we where asked if we wanted to discuss the episodes we watched, I thought that was a great idea. When we finally came around to talking about it, it wasn't what I imagined. People could say what they thought, but if someone behind my row of seats decided to speak, I couldn't see who it was. We where also being asked to talk about the episode right after we watched it. I would think discussing everything we watched at the end of the screenings would have been better. We then could have moved the chairs into a circle or something and discussed it face to face with each other.
After the screenings where over, it was announced that we could do whatever we wanted (including meeting other people), but I'm not going to go up to each individual person and introduce myself and try to start a conversation. We have like 30 people in the group. I want to be like "hey, what's up dave" or "hey, whats up kristy." I don't want it to be "hey, it's that guy." When it comes to watching anime, I can do that at home. So when I come to this group, I'm looking for more than just that. If the group stays the same as it is now, I honestly don't care to come anymore.
As far as how to actually go about getting the group to be more personal, I don't know. That's something I'm willing to discuss with the organizers if they want. I'm open and would like to hear what all organizers and members think about this suggestion.
